Insert special characters in editor window

Hi people!

I want to to add a javascript to the page that will make it possible to insert special characters in the message window. Therefor I would like to create a new box below the message area in the editor window. If you look at the attached picture, everything will be clear.

I've tried to do it by myself, but I didn't succeed, so now I'm asking for your help.

I'm a little dissapointed nobody can help me out on this one.

Posted my message at vb.com, vb.org (even as service request) and here, but still nothing.
Does anyone have a suggestion where else I could ask?
