I have found this on a few threads that if I try to post a reply I get this "Sorry! This forum is not accepting new posts."

go to the forum manager in the acp -- for that forum look under POSTING OPTIONS for "Forum is Open" --- set this to YES... :)

Well I just checked what you told me to look at & do , But its already checked Yes..
So it says the forum IS open...http://bestsmileys.com/thinking/6.gif

Strange thing tho...Other threads in that very same forum are working just fine???:confused:

Login to the admincp
-> vBulletin Options -> turn off vbulletin
-> Maintenance -> Update counters -> rebuild forum information.

(while you board is off you can run other maintenance as well)..

Put your site and forum link in there and run that URL...Once it comes up select REBUILD FORUM INFORMATION from that screen

Once here choose Rebuild Forum Information

All that means is that visitors can't post or do anything. They get a message saying the boards are down for maintnence. You can still view the boards. Change the option back and they can access the boards again.

And don't forget to back-up your database daily, weekly, or atleast monthly, though I suggest weekly, so you have a back-up if you ever lose it/get hacked.

No database = Boards are destroyed and you have to start all over!!!! :eek:

What ever you have for

$config['Misc']['admincpdir'] = 'admincp';

is where the directory is at.

You should make up a list of what you need done, and hire some one to do it all and teach you everything, ESPECIALLY how to make back-ups...so your boards don't ever get destroyed from a crash or hacker!!!!! Hackings do occure. My server was hacked once to do a DOS attack on a Government web site!!!!!! That's how I learned you have to also DOWNLOAD the back-up to your computer!! *gulp* er what's your internet speed??!!!

at the very bottom of that menu... there's a category that says Maintenance. Click on the arrow on that category. Another menu appears and you'll click on update counters.
You'll be taken to another screen in the right hand pane.... find rebuild forum information category and click on the button.

sorry but you NEED to have that on your menu, so if somehow he's blocked it, you need to do something. YOU need to be able to go in there and optimize your tables, do database backups, and do general maintenance.
