DLight 03-01-2006, 03:54 PM Sorry to jump in with an in-ya-face question, but is free speech about all things vB allowed here?
I''m just asking because I don't want to waste my time if it isn't - I've seen threads get locked on vb.com and vb.org which I thought were fine. Ok they might not have been what the site owners wanted to hear but fine nonetheless and certainly not needing closing!!
ARGH!
*composes myself*
Sorry - I'm just venting, but have a sneaky suspicion this place different. Well, I hope so.
free speech about all things vB allowed here?Yes
If your topic is directly related to vbulletin then you can certainly post within this forum. However we do draw the line when it comes to flaming others or licensing infringement violations or other warez activities.
So if you have now composed. Hello DLight and welcome to vbwebmaster.com and if you have any questions or opinions about vbulletin post~em here.
DLight 03-01-2006, 05:59 PM Thank you :)
noppid 03-01-2006, 06:01 PM To be fair, how about showing us links to where you may have been treated unfairly?
This could serve to help us all.
But remember, I'm honest, if you don't like my opinion, we can't be getting into a ****ing match here too. That might indicate a common denominator. ;)

Diasgreeing on a matter is fine - so long as everyone conducts themselves in an acceptable manner. What ****es people of is taking away our right to speak. People should be able to win their debate with the power of their argument, not by getting silly or having the last say and then closing the thread. Nothing makes people leave a community/site quicker than such treatment, and if the offender is an offical representative of a company - brand loyalty suffers.
With regards to what happened, I don't think it's nescessery to bring it up again but suffice to say people are moving to unoffical sites like these for a reason.

I will have to assume you are referring to the recent photopost vBgallery thread on vb.org.......

Yeah, but they still got your money and know you will be back. It's like crack. LOL
I can identify with your posts, but quite frankly, no one over there cares that I can tell. I gave up already.
DLight 03-02-2006, 06:12 PM Yeah, but they still got your money and know you will be back. It's like crack. LOL.
And the abuse of that position makes it harder to swallow.
No matter how much you love a product, if the company that owns it (or an employee of it) treats you badly you'll go looking elsewhere. Is it just a matter of time before another product takes the reign? If/when that happens what will keep people from jumping ship? Loyalty. But the loyalty has to be there out of free will, not a false one out of no real other choice.
So how badly does a company have to treat you? Well that varies from person to person, but you can at the very least expect that an employee of a company should never disrespect a customer, especially if there's no call for it (obviously that courtesy doesn't extend to drunken yobs or abusive customers).
If a company needs to deal with customers on a daily basis they should send their employees on a course to teach them about basic customer service skills - if they don't, they put themselves at risk. What employees do or think in their private life is fine, but when they wear a company badge they can't afford to let their personal views, inarticulateness and lack of respect for the paying client taint their companies image or sever their relationship with customers or potential customers.
smacklan 03-02-2006, 06:54 PM They make their bed, they will eventually have to lay in it. You have to remember (if this is in regards to the recent thread on vb.org that Corriewf mentioned), that vb.org and vb.com is run very differently than alot of sites.
