301 redirects

not sure what section to ask this in..

I know very little about 301 redirect, but I'm getting ready to change my URL and i need to redirect some old pages to the new ones..

this is what the old URL would be

locomacheen.com/home.htm

and this is what the new page is going to look like

locomacheen.com/sitemodules-Content-viewarticle-4.html

and I just place some code in the root htacess page ?

i think it's like this

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.locoforum\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*) http://locomacheen.com/$1 [L,R=301]


but i was to target specific thread and pages to the pages..

Options +Indexes
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^home\.htm$ http://www.locomacheen.com/sitemodules-Content-viewarticle-4.html [R=301,L]

(This is for just one URL being redirected.)
