Clicksor Advertising Program :yesway:

Just joined up with Clicksor (http://www.clicksor.com/?ref=70053) and so far i'm pretty impressed. There is 0 setup time, as soon as you join, you can start running ads pretty much. It took about 20 minutes to start to get targeted ads for my site but after that its been all good since.

They have pop-under advertising, which some people may not wish to implement on their site, which is understandable, but what i did was code it into my forums so only guests would receive the popups. It was pretty simple.

They have in-line contextual ads, which would turn words into advertisements. Pretty awesome idea, and has a decent click rate from what i can tell.

Then there is also the standard advertisements. You can choose to run all 3 on your site, or simply 1 or 2 if you wish. You have the ability to filter out adult sites from being advertised which is great, and they also allow adult sites to use their program which is even better, well for myself anyway :)

Definetly something to check out. My first days revenue has already been double my usual adsense/YPN revenue. And its only been about 7 hours

Yes, i've been dying to find a program such as this for my adult site as well and it took a long time to find.

I've got the pop unders on for guests, if you need help getting it setup to only show the pop under for guests let me know

Sounds cool. I've been looking for a google replacement.

Could you post how to disable pop unders for member please? I'd never get that figured out on my own :)

This will show pop unders to the unregistered users only.

In your header template place the first part of the javascript code the give along with the if statement, should look something like this

<if condition="$show['registerbutton']">
<script type='text/javascript'>
<!--

//default banner house ad url
clicksor_default_url = '';

clicksor_layer_border_color = '#B4D0DC';
clicksor_layer_ad_bg = '#ECF8FF';
clicksor_layer_ad_link_color = '#0000CC';
clicksor_layer_ad_text_color = '#000000';
clicksor_text_link_bg = '';
clicksor_text_link_color = '#000FFF';

clicksor_enable_text_link = true;

//default pop-under house ad url
durl = '';
clicksor_enable_pop = true;
clicksor_frequencyCap = 0;

clicksor_banner_image_banner = true;
clicksor_banner_border = '#B4D0DC';
clicksor_banner_ad_bg = '#ECF8FF';
clicksor_banner_link_color = '#0000CC';
clicksor_banner_text_color = '#000000';
//-->
</script>
</if>

You'll obvisouly want to replace that with your first section of javascript code.

Then in whatever template you wish to display the regular ads, i simply added the last part of the javascript code they give you.

I would think that would be almost a guarantee that those unregistered users won't hang around to become registered users. :eek:

I have mine set to one pop under per session, and it doesnt seem to be hurting registration at all right now. And also a peice of text that informs them that registered users dont get popups or pop unders

Agreed. Pop-up's/unders/overs will make me close a site instantly unless I really need the information.

Be prepared for major fallout if you implement the "inline contextual ads", which turn words into ads. That's the Vibrant Media IntelliTXT model, and it is extremely unpopular on forums. Do some Google searches on "IntelliTXT" and you'll find endless debates. I admin on Daniweb, and a trial-run there was disastrous, with many admins/mods ready to pack up and leave (myself among them).

The chief problem is that people view their posts as THEIR posts. It's one thing to have ads on the forum, but when you turn your members' actual words into product endorsements, without their permission or control, you've crossed a major ethical line.

IntelliTXT has torn communities apart, and if the Clicksor in-line ads are implemented similarly, you shouldn't touch them with a 10-foot pole.

I can see where that'd be a problem, and i'll be disabling it on my forum during the next work time :D

If it's working for you, that's great. Like Danny Boy, I hate popups and pop-unders with a passion, and with or without a notice that I wouldn't be seeing them if I were a registered guest I can absolutely assure you that it would be a turn-off for me. I would not even read the disclaimer about registered members because I would already have clicked the "close window" icon as soon as it appeared and my very next step would be to hit the back button before that site tried anything else.

Sorry to bring this old post back to life but was looking for ads I could use on an adult site via google and found this post.

Seems Clicksor no longer allows adult sites?

Can I send traffic from any site ?
No. We will not pay for any traffic from illegal sites (including, but not limited to Warez, ROM's, EMU's, newsgroup postings, SPAM emails) or sites with Adult Content. Also, any falsification of traffic will be grounds for immediate termination from the program and the forfeiture of any accrued payments.

Hey, feel free to bring any thread back to life that your little heart desires :)
I used Adbright on the adult site that I used to own.

I agree, popup / popunders only really work on sites that attract teenagers and youngsters. Although they don't really like them, they are the ones that will still use the site if you have popups or not as long as you only have one per sessions obviously. I prefer to have no popups on my sites at all, even the sites that also attack youngsters.
