thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 06:57 PM OK basically I have a new style (I just uploaded), but for some reason there is no box to select the skin. The only way I can see the skin is by selecting it from the admincp. I should note that I had this problem for some time..I noticed it from the beginning, but it was one of those things that slipped my mind, and I forgot to check it out, so I know it's not because of any recent hacks...Please help!
Peggy 09-18-2006, 06:58 PM are you sure that the style is enabled in your acp's style manager?
Noppid 09-18-2006, 07:12 PM So you are saying in the ACP Style Manager there is no check box for the new style to enable it?
If there is a check box and it's checked, go to vBulletin Options->Style & Language Settings->Allow Users To Change Styles is set to Yes.
Now are you sure that this style is for the version of vB you have and not an older version? If it's older, I think vB is allowing you to see it to reference it for any template modifications that you may want to move to the styles that can work with the version of vB you have, but not run it.
thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 07:12 PM Yes Peggy, It's showing in the style manage. It's style #2. I tried it as user selectable, no good...I don't know what's wrong.

Edit: Wait Nopid....The style is selectible in acp, it's not selectible from the forum it's self.
Tried that with no luck Nopid, and yes both styles are for 3.6 :(
semann 09-18-2006, 07:16 PM maybe the styñle doesnt include the box...
thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 07:19 PM How would members be able to select a skin then?
Noppid 09-18-2006, 07:20 PM Let's see a screen shot of the style manager and the vBulletin Options->Style & Language Settings->Allow Users To Change Styles.
semann 09-18-2006, 07:27 PM no... its the style... theres a miner skin that doesnt have the changer...
theres a code for that is something like $skinselector or something like that... look on the default template :)

I believe you, but I specifically asked thablewprnt if there was a check box and never got an answer, thus the request for a screen shot.
I'm sure thablewprnt will get there eventually.
thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 07:41 PM I thought i did answer that a few replies up, but yes there is a check box...screen comming up. ;)
thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 07:45 PM acp.......
semann 09-18-2006, 07:46 PM wich style do you want to appear tio users... if its fire... it will not
Noppid 09-18-2006, 07:50 PM Fire appears to be a child of tren_z to me? Anyone else?
Besides fire not being checked, thus not being selectable, you need to make it set to no parent. If not, every time you edit tren_z, the edits will flow down to fire. That may not be the desired result on a custon skin.

Thats correct, I don't want the members to see it at the moment, but even if users can't select it, admin should be able too, but i can't. I also made it selectible, and it stilled didn't show up on the forum.
semann 09-18-2006, 07:57 PM so the problem might be in the footer template

Changed my settings. The skin is set to no parent forum. I made it user selectable...Still no good...I tried everything...

That's a good start.
so the problem might be in the footer template
I'm betting that semann has the winning post here.
thablewprnt 09-18-2006, 09:07 PM ^^That would be a sure bet :) ....Thanks for checking it out for me Nopid.... All is good people, thanks for the help. :o
Noppid 09-18-2006, 10:03 PM Actually, we were all confused and vB was doing exactly what it was supposed too. I just had the opportunity to take a look and sort it out.
