Urgent Warning!!

Just to let others know - I got up this morning to find a problem with my recently installed vBPager hack. At first I thought someone had hacked my site but Ohio, the darling, has just advised me that it is not my site that's been hacked but the hack inventor's site.

I'll leave it to Ohio, who is a Moderator here, to fill you guys and gals in on the details.

It is sufficient for me to strongly suggest that anyone using this fantastic hack should temporarily disable it entirely on your boards. If you don't you may find yourself being investigated by some pretty darned powerful GOOD guys.

Sorry to bear unhappy tidings but forewarned is forearmed - and vB-FAQ is a site where good guys and gals hang out so I thought I'd try to help out here.

I uninstalled it. It was a nicety, but not a necessity, and really put a load on system resources. Everyone on the hack thread is complaining about it. So I took it off.

I kinda like what this hack can do - and it had no noticeable effect at all on my server, especially when I activated the instant delete option so that records were not saved and disappeared after a few seconds following inactivity.

Are we sure that the hacker's naughty work won't be fixed? I suppose we can always reinstall it later if the problem is fixed.

As for you uninstalling mine, darling, you know you can always have your way with me. So I'll just lay back and think of England - James Bond style!! :D
