RC Attacker 10-07-2006, 11:51 AM Hi, I'm wondering if anyone could make me a very fast skin? All I need done is to change the default vBulletin colors and that's all. I have tried but I can't make it come out clean looking. It should only take like a quick 10 minutes. I just did it but it looked like junk. The theme is Pokemon, yes, Pokemon. The colors should be blue, yellow, and some red, maybe black and white fonts too. I was thinking a Comic Sans Font I can give you an example if you need. I'll just make you an admin and give you the permission to change skins.
If anyone can do it fast, let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.

Peggy 10-07-2006, 12:31 PM RC there is nothing fast about making a new style. You can't change only the colors. If you change colors and nothing else, the buttons won't look right, there will be a white jaggy area around other images because they were matted for the one skin color and would now have to be re-matted for the new skin color.

Peggy is right. If you want to change just the colors, most of the time it will always look unclean. Take your time, create a new skin just available to you so you can playtest all the changes, look at your color wheel, and try out some color theory, google it if you must. You will have to experiment a lot to find the right theme. OR, buy the services of someone like Peggy or Miner, who can do a great job making your site look unique and professional.

Ok sweets... those aren't just color changes. Those are skins, meaning template changes, special coding, etc.
I understand what you're wanting, and could do it for you, but there's still nothing "fast" about it. It takes time to figure out a base color, coordinate that color with other colors... If you want me to give it a shot, I will. But don't expect anything quick.

I was at first thinking main yellow and blue with a red accent and some white and black and yellow and red fonts. But looking around maybe we can come up with an original look.

minstrel 10-09-2006, 02:42 PM Not bad. I'd suggest you shrink that banner a few pixels so it's fits the page at 800 x 600. (I still suspect the pokemon guys will prefer Pikachou though.)

Addendum:
Yes. It's changed from when I first saw it. Darker background. Generally a darker style than previously. I still prefer it to the newer one but I think the older lighter, brighter Pikachu version was better still.
