Contest Ideas

Ok guys -

I have several car forums.

I want to run a few contests for Christmas.. I need some ideas...

I have already done the "Best Looking Car" kinda thing. - Anyone have some ideas?

I don't know anything about car forums. Are you looking for something specifically car related? Could it be humorous? Like tackiest looking before pic in a restoring project? Or best bumper sticker trashing the competition?

We're doing best Xmas lights (outdoor on houses) on our forums. Does it have to be car related? If so, I'll try to think of something creative.

I posted a "car advert wars" sequence on my forum. It's really funny. And sparks a thought.

How about a fantasy car advert contest? With real cars of course. Challenges imagery and message.

And if someone comes up with something commercially viable - I'll settle for 10% of the action for my part in sparking it :D

No, it doesnt have to be car related but since they are car forums, car related comes to mind.

not to sound sexist but what about getting members to take a pic of their car with a sexy babe on it...that would get everyone interested in looking at the pics...also might give your members a reason to finally chat up the hot girl they have been eyeing

That's what I tried to suggest. But apparfently Joey wanted pics of me in a Speedo. Sometimes I really don't understand that guy. :confused:

The trick is to have mass appeal. Relatively few have elaborate sound systems. Best looking engine, well, again, relatively few have done significant modification to their engines, so its not really mass appeal.

Ideally, I would like something people have to do something to enter, but be something anyone can do.

Best sales description of the car, options, customizations? Done like a classified ad for AutoTrader or something?

They wouldn't be required to sell it - just to write up an AutoTrader style ad complete with photo as IF they were trying to sell it and to make it look like a vehicle a prospective buyer just HAD to have.
