View Full Version : ClubXterra.org : Nissan Xterra Forum
This is my newest VB website www.clubxterra.org It is a site for Nissan Xterra owners and enthusiasts.
It is just getting going now we have a few people with a few hundred posts but I have been modding and tweaking and SEO'ing it so hopefully it will pay off soon.
Let me know what you think.

I like the colour scheme but the photos at the top seem a bit disjointed from the rest of the design and on pages like http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3958#post3958 the post reply button looks a bit lost.
good luck with the forum!

I like the colors on the forum, although they could use some tweaking, to make them coordinate a bit better. But that uuuuugly dark gray has got to go. It's awful! It makes your new thread button and reply button have a jagged, white pixel around the edges, and the animated sponsor banner looks terrible against it. That area needs to be white, imo. It's a simple hex color change in the style's Main CSS section. RUN, do not walk, and change that color, asap!
Speaking of the sponsor banner... is there a specific reason why you placed it between the title image and the welcome panel? It would be much better placed between the navigation bar and Welcome panel, or between the welcome panel and forum body.
The photo on the top right is very much out of place, I have to agree with sarah on that. The title image though, is well done.
OK I think I understand what your talking about. Check it out now and see if its better. About the picture at the top right. That is our Xterra of the month picture. A new one is picked each month. If I move it to the left it will look really funny having a big white space on the right. Not really sure what I could do to make that look any better. Any suggestions.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH yes!!! SO much better. Bet that looks better to you too, eh?
Just 2 things...
1) the sponsor banner. You need to put a line break beneath the code, so that it's not sitting right on top of the forum on the main page, and the forum description on the other pages. By "line break" I mean just type a <br /> beneath the code. That'll solve that.
2) as for the picture in the upper right... ok so that's a picture of the month? Is the vehicle the focus of the picture? If so, and that's where you want the picture to be, at least crop it on the sides, get rid of most of the extra scenery, so that the vehicle is the focal point. We'll see how it looks then ;)

Yep, that's much better. Your members will find that looks great.
