Although I'm not a fan of dark styles, I'll admit that for a first attempt, it's pretty good.
nice job ;)

Thank you very much! I just noticed that there aren't a whole lot of dark styles out there. I thought by making this simple and basic dark style, it would also make a good starting point for making custom dark styles too.

darlin' I don't know where you're looking, but there is a multitude of dark styles out there for vB. Alot of people seem to like them, for whatever reason.

One of the reasons that I don't like them is this: when you click on quote, reply, etc, IF you're using the basic editor images, there's usually a white jagged area surrounding each little image. The same with the stock smilies that come with vB. That's because they were made for a lighter style. If you look at yours, and see that, You might want to find a graphics person to fix those up for you.

I'm working on my first two styles (noone's seen them yet), and I got one of the graphics people on my site to clean them up for me. I'm not sure that I'll ever release them to the public, or just use them on my site. I still have alot of work to do on the styles. It's taking quite a while since I don't have alot of time, at any one sitting, to work on it.

I just remember when I started my forum, I was looking for dark styles to start working from, and for whatever reason, all the ones I found had a lot of template changes and things like that. I'm not too found of template changes, as some hacks/mods and updates don't play well with them. As far as the little buttons goes, I know what ya mean, I hate those jaggies too! They aren't too hard to fix, the vBulletin graphics are designed to be as tiny as possible, and using nice antialiased smoothed out edges makes the pics a little larger, so they went for a more simple design (plus it works fine with the stock style anyways!) My main idea for this style was to make a redesign of the original, using the same templates, in darker colors, not to be used by itself (although for some, it may be enough, I like my styles more integrated to the rest of my site). I figured people could take this, and then go from there, and add in visual elements that help incorporate it to their site. I made up a motorcycle theme (which I believe you've already seen) off of this one, which went a lot quicker, because this was done. Does that make any sense?
