Vbulletin Styles

I've been fiddling around here lately with creating some vB styles for my own site. The ones I've done have mainly been for ladies, as there is a distinct lack of feminine styles out there for women's forums.

Lately I've received a few emails from people saying they thought they were quite good and thought I should put them out for download. Well, I have NO idea how to code, and there's no xml thingee, or anything. They're just sitting on my forum being used by us. The one I'm working on now is on my 3.6 test forum, so it'll be for 3.6

If any of you style designers out there have any words of advice for me, I'd appreciate it. How do I go about coding a style for others to use? Do you have to have a xml to use a style? Hell, I have WinZip, but I don't even know how to zip everything up, I only know how to unzip (get your mind out of there!).

I'm perfectly happy to just use these on my own forum, but a couple of other people are bugging me for one of them, so any help would be appreciated.

I think you can simply go to AdminCP | Styles & Templates | Download/Upload Styles, and then download a particular style. This will create the XML file which others can then upload to their site. That's how I do plugins: I turn on debug mode, create a "product" adminCP, then associate all my plugins, templates, and phrases with that product. Then, I "download" that product to create the XML. I think styles work the same way.

Thanks Thomas... that sounds too easy, but if that's it, then I'm in luck there!

My pleasure. If you're using a recent version of Windows, you can zip a single file by right-clicking it, and choosing "Send to compressed folder" from the context menu.

I'm talking about zipping that xml file and a whole style-full of graphics into one zip.
I have Win-zip, guess I'd better sit down and read it. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Once you've "sent" one file to a "compressed folder", that new compressed folder will BE a zip file. To add more files to it, just drag them into/onto that new "compressed folder".
