Like the topic says I'm looking to integrate a site i've made into the vB forum software. Now before I start id like to explain my situation. I made a site (service) for a community that uses vBulletin. I was expecting the web master that ran the forum to do the integration but terns out he dose not know how. Since I don't own a license and really have no plans to get one I don't have access to any docs on how to do such integrations. The web master did however forward me a small tutorial found on the official forums but since I don't use vB it was like reading gibberish. I did ask a few fellow web developers about it and the explanations I receive make it sound like its not as easy as just adding a menu item to the theme and including pages...

So I found my way here looking for info and help. To help you guys help me Ill give you some info about the site (service) I made. It's a voting site that allows anyone to submit a server and vote on it. The site uses MYSQL as its database. It also uses a large number of php code and php includes.

So could anyone help me out? If you need more info i'll be more then happy to supply you with it.

ok Ill just show you.

Heres the site I made http://otvote.otfans.net/

and heres the forums I want to merge the site into http://otfans.net/forum.php?

The files are all on the same web server but as you can see I use includes for my pages and whatnot so..ya.

and yes I know the layout of the site will have to be changed. I put a temp layout on it so it wouldnt look half assed.

edited All I want to do is add a new menu item that points to "otvote". When they click it the forum part gets replaced with the site but still has the same menus and whatnot.

Ok - so you want to add a link to the navbar?

that and also make it so the site would show within the theme. I don't want the forum and the site separate like they currently are. I want it to be like there made as one site.

do you understand? I know I can be a big confusing sometimes hehe.

Sure - You need someone to make a skin for you that matches the rest of your site.

no no the skin on the forum is the skin we plan to use.

We only want to make the site look more like the forum and have the site within the forum software.

So for example people are on the forum and they want to vote on servers. They look at the top (on the menu) and click "OTvote". It then replaces the forum part with the site (list of servers) but still keeps the same menu at the top that was on the forum.

get what im saying now? Basically iframing but using the vB api.

Ok - well you could use vBadvanced.com cmps system to create pages and modules as needed -

But you have to learn a little about how vb works - there is no simple answer except that and hiring someone.

thats kinda why i'm hear. Since I don't have a license I don't have access to any of the official support threads that explain in depth on how to do such things. The host / web master has a license and has suppled me with one very basic tutorial but that didn't give me a clear image on how to do it since I use php allot within the list site. From the looks of things vB would block me from using any of the methods I have been.

start by getting a vbulletin license

what you can do is probably have a custom page for your forum and iframe the rest of the links. you would have to remove all the banners and images and just have th tables from the link page and have it show in the iframe. i dont think vbadvanced can do what he wants unless you really hard code it in some how.

custom pages for vb here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=62164&highlight=custom+page)

then just fill in the info that you want displayed and add the link to your navbar. and you should have what you need.

have the webmaster add your email to the account so that when you register on vbulletin.org you can download and have full access. all he has to do is add your email on the members login on vbulletin.com and your good to go
