Peggy 06-19-2006, 05:32 PM Ok, this isn't my first new style, but the first one I'm daring to show publicly.
I have it up on my vB test forum. Please don't post over there... but look at it and post back here.
I want honest opinions, especially from women, since this style is for women.
But be gentle please ;)

KW802 06-20-2006, 08:14 PM Peggy, the banner isn't linked to anything. :p
Peggy 06-20-2006, 08:16 PM LOL.. so it isn't... sorry! Fixing it now
Gurdur 06-21-2006, 10:24 AM It's a nice skin, very nice.
A few comments:
I wonder if the background colour could be just a tad more peachy, it seems too vaguely brownish at the moment.

The above is a broken link / image.
In the Welcome message to guests, you have:
Welcome to [ARG:3 UNDEFINED]!
so either an unentered board name, or a badly written template line.
I found many of the text links irritatingly difficult to read (my eyes are not the best), a little sharper colour differentiation could be in order; the worst for me were:
Contact Us - Exquisitely Erotic - Archive - Top
I could read those OK owing to their largish size, but for some reason the text colour versus the background colour just seemed to hurt my eyes.
CAVEAT:
I am not a woman.
My monitor is definitely not the best, so subtle colours don't play all that well on it.
My eyes are not the best, and I looked at the site without glasses, since I usually work on the computer without glasses.

noppid 06-21-2006, 10:34 AM Alt 1 and alt 2 could be a little lighter for me. Or the peach and gray text a little darker.
It's very soft and with bad eyes like the other guy, contrast matters alot.
But great job. You are doing nice work.
KW802 06-21-2006, 11:02 AM I think the colors fit in with the desired feel... a sorta' retro 1920's, 1930's Great Gatsby'ish feminine theme. For that time period a lot of colors had a washed look to them.

Hi Tim, welcome to vB-FAQ! It's an honor that your first post here is a critique of my second style. Don't worry about the broken links, as that will never be a live board. It's my test forum for 3.6 Beta, and I figured I'd test my new styles there, since I'm making them for 3.6
I'm glad you told me that your monitor might be a little off.. the background is very peachy, almost orange, so I really don't want to go any more peachy than it is.
I found many of the text links irritatingly difficult to read (my eyes are not the best), a little sharper colour differentiation could be in order; the worst for me were:
Contact Us - Exquisitely Erotic - Archive - Top Ok I darkened all of the text, and brightened it up a bit on the footer, where thise links are. How is it for you now?

I darkened the peach and gray text... how does it look now?
and thanks!

I KNEW you were going to 'get it'... exactly the "feel" I was going for!
noppid 06-21-2006, 11:40 AM I think ya got something pretty darn nice there. It's a bit soft for a guy, but it's nice none the less.
Good work.

*blushing* thank you darlin'.
I think this just may be my first style release here.
