NEVER IN 3 YRS HAS THIS HAPPEN AND I JUST GOT A EMAIL FROM MY HOST. THIS HAS TO BE A PROBLEM ON THERE END .ANY IDEAS

What version of vb are you using?
3.5.0 And I Have A Closed Board Its Private Registration Closed So I Have To Add Members
Dave A 12-26-2006, 11:20 AM I haven't been around long enough to comment if there is this sort of security issue with 3.5.0, but I'd seriously think about upgrading for the other known bugs.
Maybe scan for undesirable/unknown programs and scripts using your hosting admin panel (Cpanel or Plesk) in case it's non vb related and is a hack abusing the php email generator.

Again, I don't know 3.5.0, but if there isn't a time limit between emails, you might need to disable this option. Take a close look at your settings that allow members (or guests) to email out that isn't member-to-member.
Also, look at your settings for email bounces - you want to get a copy of bounces so that you can look at the content and routing.

dave i have noticed getting weird emails from members in my server email and i do get bounces i beleive thats what they are. what option do i disable to see if i dont get any more member emails in my server email

If it were me - I would delete all email addressees, make 1 new one for the forum to use as an outbound email address, and let your host know that you have done this.
Caddyman 12-27-2006, 04:56 AM im handling this with cubs, asking the server CO what file in particular is exceeding the load, and he has now upgraded his hosting package, will update if we get further info

I Upgraded To A Different Package They Said It Would Corrct The Problem And If I Wanted To Send 10,ooo Emails A Hour No Poroblem Now. They Had A Rule That You Could Only Send 1000 Emails A Hour Well I Have Over 7000 Members So When I Do A Mass Email It Exceeds It And Then They Said Puts Stress On The Server. I Guess Thay Just Let It Be For 3yrs And Now It Was A Problem.i Also Got A New Look Server Panel.
