I noticed a domain free and thought it was too good to be true so I ordered it at a mere $8.

I'm starting a forum for people who are new to IT and need help or advice. I have amateur knowledge of computing from my years of using them, from the good old commodore 64 days! Basically, i'll need some mods to help with the site and help with any questions that are very technical.

I know there's a lot of sites out there covering the same subject, but the domain is pretty damn fine, easy to remember and is a key search word. Plus, I always manage to sort out friends and family computer problems so why not give it a go. It's aimed at the true beginner to IT.

Not using paid adds as I can't afford it but I will be using vbulletin when I buy another license soon (About 5 days).

Many thanks

I'd be willing to help, altho I have to admit my own skills are around the basic to intermediate level. Still, I might be able to help occasionally.

If you're holding out for more advanced tech types, fair enough. :)

No not really, as I want it to be a fun but helpful place and sometimes someone over qualified giving advice can confuse people with the computer talk. Although for really techie stuff there will be a need or just refer them to another site that can.

It's not running yet, but should be by the end of the month so i'll keep you updated.

I'm hoping to have a couple of mates help out too who are qualified so that should help, just depends on their time availability ;-)

Thanks for the interest.

I will help you. I use to own my own computer company. Been awhile but I am sure I can get back in the swing of things. I still love to work on them and repair or upgrade them.

Let me know and I will join to be a helping staff.

Thanks
-Chris

I have a couple of websites. Not for computers though.

One for my logo design business - www.sogoldesigns.com
another is my Graphic design site, it has my new forum I just started last week on it- www.eaglegraphix.com

I am an Admin for other forums also. I will go register now.

Great idea.
I might be interested. I worked in IT as help desk tech (hardware and software), software trainer (MS office mostly), and network admin for 20 years. I now do web and graphics design along with Web admin (on IIS). I'm a little tied up until after the 2nd week in August though, but after that I would have time to help out.

Yeah, died a slow and painful death. Lost interest and too many sites like it I suppose, but worth a go.

This thread can be closed in need be.
