Peggy 03-16-2006, 03:24 PM This company is similar to Google Adsense, operates similarly, but is more 'lenient' on the kind of websites/forums it will place ads on. My forum was approved only today so I have nothing really to go by as far as performance, revenues, etc, but I guess I'll find out ;)
Kanoodle (http://www.kanoodle.com/)
Hey Peggy, can you use this in conjunction with Google Adsense?
Peggy 03-16-2006, 07:08 PM Hey Peggy, can you use this in conjunction with Google Adsense?do you mean use them both at the same time? (sorry just woke up). I really don't know hun, I didn't check since I can't use adsense
Yeah Peggy, that's what I was wondering.
Peggy 03-17-2006, 05:27 AM is there generally a policy that you can't use one program at the same time as another?
Peggy 03-18-2006, 10:39 AM ok John here's the answer to your question I do believe.....
I'm running other ad programs on my site. Can I add BrightAds Content, too?
Yes. It's your site and we think you should have total control over what you put on it. So, to accommodate your needs and goals, we welcome you to add BrightAds Content to the same Web site - even on the same page - as any other ad product. This includes affiliate arrangements, banner ads and other sponsored listings.
However, I don't know what kind of policy google adsense has
OK Peggy, I guess that begs the question does Google allow this to appear on the same pages as their Adsense ads?
Peggy 03-18-2006, 11:50 AM I answered that above hun... no idea.
Biggles LLB 03-23-2006, 10:02 AM Thanks again Peggy
We have just applied to Kanoodle. As you know, my wife was dumped unceremoniously by AdSense for no real reason other than that our kids clicked on some ads. Now we have made them aware, they won't be doing the same thing again.
Here's hoping things will work out better with Kanoodle.
I reckon I owe you a hearty thanks, babydoll ... too scared to offer more!
Kindest regards
Mike :)
Peggy 03-23-2006, 10:16 AM LOL... why scared? damn, do I scare people?
Good luck with Kanoodle. I have the code on my site but have seen an ad only fleetingly. It shows up then disappears again. I've emailed them several times since last Friday, and the owner finally emailed me back on Tuesday, said he never saw the other emails. ooooooooooooooooooooook...
Anyway, he said he tried stuff and couldn't get it to show, said it might be because my site was closed to the general public. Problem is, it isn't. Only certain forums are closed to the public. Sooooooo, he sent it to their tech dept, and said he'd let me know when he heard something. I hadn't heard from him as of yesterday morning, so I emailed him again and no reply yet.
I truly hope you have more luck than I have had.
Biggles LLB 03-23-2006, 09:21 PM Hmmm ... OK, I'll let you know babydoll. We've got our fingers crossed.
BTW, it's me I am scared of, not you Peggy, m'dear. Loss of control ... serious problem for pilots, even old ex pilots!;)
Peggy 03-23-2006, 10:37 PM Hmmm ... OK, I'll let you know babydoll. We've got our fingers crossed.

Danecookie 04-28-2006, 02:18 AM its contextual?
Joeychgo 04-28-2006, 03:29 AM I dont believe so....
Peggy 04-28-2006, 04:52 AM I wouldn't know, I never did get the ads to show up on my forum, and they stopped replying to my emails, even the owner wouldn't reply. So I took them off
Coder1 04-28-2006, 08:12 AM Competitive Ads and Services
We do not permit Google ads or search boxes accessing Google search services to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads or services. If you have elected to receive contextually-targeted Google ads, this would include all other contextually-targeted ads or links on the same page as Google ads. This would also include ads throughout the site that mimic Google ads or otherwise appear to be associated with Google on your site. Although you may sell ads directly on your site, it is your responsibility to ensure these ads do not mimic Google ads. If you have elected to receive Google search services, this would include other search services on the same site and non-Google query-targeted ads. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links.
Yet another example of Google's arrogance. It's almost as if they consider any page using AdSense to be their page. Technically, using Adsense would prevent you, according to this policy, from using other contextual ads anywhere else on your site. Yet one more reason for the web community to abandon Google.
Peggy 04-28-2006, 10:52 AM I knew that Google has that policy, but the other companies I've contacted don't.
