ok we have a open forum on lowandloud.com, open to registered members and all is well. I started a GFX request section then quickly realized if im making GFX for everyone i want them to contribute (reasonable right)

is there a way for me to have it so a user must have say 30 posts before they can post a request in say the "Sig request" thread?

"GFX request" is a subforum now, and within that there is a sig request thread, avatar request thread, etc.....

TIA for any help

The default vb gives you the promotion system to do this. For this you will have to:

1. Create a new usergroup

2. Create your new subforum

3. Set permissions for the subforum, so no regular user be able to post on it

4. Create the user promotion so after the number of posts you decide the regular users get promoted to the usergroup you just created.

5. Optionally, I think you can run the promotion vB-cron manually so the users that already have the requisite number of posts get to see the changes immediately.

There is also a hack on vb.org that simplifies all this, eliminating the need for usergroups, permissions and promotions.
