they are at it again!

my sites have been down all night as was theres. could not get tech support because there sites were down and their lines were busy.

so this morning, they are still down!

i finally get a hold of tech via the chat and he innocently asks me what is going on? like he does not KNOW! i explain that my sites have been down and he says

We've had a router issue this morning that has caused a few servers some problems, but they are working them out at this time,

and it won't be resolved
Within a few hours, the admins are working extremely hard to remedy the problems.

how difficult is it to move my forums to another host w/o losing posts etc.?

It's not that hard Tammy, and some hosts will move it all for you.

But you ahve to understand - all hosts have problems like this from time to time. Servers and other equipment break down from time to time. Its a fact of life. If everything else is running fine normally, then I would consider sitting put.

Joey, trust me when i say i understand that life happens but this was happening a few times a week. it got better for a few weeks but now it is happening again. my site was down for almost 18 hours today.

I don't think you would be happy or accept if your site was down for over 12 hours one or two times a week.

It's not that hard Tammy, and some hosts will move it all for you.

Not one that I'm willing to move to yet, Tammy. I'm holding out til I can afford a VPS at ServInt.

I have a fairly cheap host, and I go though that quite offten, at least once
a day or maybe even more, I find all my sites offline... they went offline for about
an hour... their db system went down...and VB works via DB...so nothing worked...
this is happening more and more...

but dont cancel until you have your site moved or backed up.

If my site actually made $$, then I would move to a more stable
server, but that is just not realistic at this time.

AGGGG!!! they just deactivated my forum with no warning because it had too much traffic and was causing performance problems with their other sites.

it is just frustrating because there was no warning whatsoever.

Happened to me at Lunarpages -

Most hosts usually do it, or they downgrade to some lame-@$$ pentium II machine or something that can barely hold itself.

i did make the move to VPS...it just really pissed me off because i was getting this exceeding CPU message and when i spoke to a tech person about it, they said, oh it is this server...we'll move you to a better one and it will get better...

i even asked, if it doesn't get better, what are my options....

they told me, you may need to upgrade your account.

ok, no biggie.

well, no warning, no nothing...they turn my site off with this hideous message that says "you're account has been suspended"..

and i was at the hospital so i did not find out for 4 hours.
