Hello everyone, I found this site while converting my old forum from phpbb to vbulletin. I'm so happy I actually spent the $$ for vbulletin. I had been working so hard trying to get phpbb to do what I wanted to for almost 2 years that I finally gave up on the software and the forum entirely...until I did some some digging and was informed about vbulletin. $160 really turned me off but the more I read and the more ?tions I asked the more I thought it would be worht i and it has been.

I'm not the best coder but using phpbb will make you one wether you like it or not. I'm a network admin by day (mcse, cisco, yadda yadda) and my hobby is home theater installations. It's not going to replace my current job but it's fun and I'm a techy head.

I've been learning the ins and outs of vbulletin and also SEO while visiting this site. I don't want to drop $150 for vbseo when I might be able to do this on the cheap. I'm hoping the my efforts will pay off.

We'll thanks for taking a few minutes to read my profile info...and thanks for sharing some good information with me.

Now if I could only talk myself into buying vbAdvanced and making sure it would actually help my site with SEO....can someone please tell me if they've seen improvements by using vbAdvanced? My domain URL goes straight to my forum...Joey states that vbAdvanced would help me....

Hi tim, welcome to vbFAQ!

If you're talking about the vbAdvanced portal - CMPS - it is free. It's typically used for a "front page" to a forum. I used to use it, but don't anymore. I prefer to write my own html page as my forum's "front door". But if you don't have time for that, then vBa cmps is the way to go, imo.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Hi Tim, I think it would really be in your best interests to get vBSEO-enabled (http://www.vbseo.com/f55/thank-you-vbseo-you-bought-me-new-car-7923/). But don't take it from me, please check out or forums or get more information directly from our customers (http://www.vbseo.com/content/testimonials/) to help make your decision.

However - I do recommend that you take advantage of our vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap Generator (http://www.vbseo.com/f44/vbseo-google-yahoo-sitemap-generator-vbulletin-3-5-x-vbulletin-3-0-x-2648/). It's a free plugin that does not require vBSEO installed in order to run.
