online checker

i dont know if you guys know the name dreambox.

i dont know if it is possible but i want to add something to the postbit like the usual online checker only not as the user is online but his dreambox.

normally they have a 24-7 connection so it must be green when they are online and red if they are offline.

all the members have a dynamic dns account like no-ip.info and so on.

If that box has built-in support for Home Automation then you should be able to ping it. members would have to configure their firewall oppropriately though, I wouldn't put my box wide open to the world. Deny all but allow your forums on the firewall. If it has built-in NIC a simple ping from your vB every few minutes should do the job.
