Forum Problems -- Need help Quick!

We are having a number of forum problems:
--Members unable to log on.
--Members not able to post in certain forums.
--Gaps in posts (1-2 hours where members did not post) -- this would never happen.
--20-30 currently active members when there is always 200-300.
--Members posting in threads and getting the error message they were not permitted to post a reply.
--Members getting auto logged out.

Any thoughts on what might be happening here?

have you been fiddling with the cookie settings of your board?

that would be my guess, Hell

We found the problem. Time-out had been set to 3 minutes. And some other settings in the Admin CP had been fiddled with -- thanks for your support!
