Hi.

How do I get the RSS post bot feature to work in vBulletin 3.6.4. I set up the feed for it to post, and enabled it, but it's not posting.

How do I get it to post??

its all in those settings.... Sometimes, you ahve to wait for the feed to update as well.

Well, im sorry - its pretty straight forward - and your question was pretty vague -- You have to understnad, im not looking at what your looking at, so I cant guess at what the issue is.

Basically, you go to Admin CP -- RSS Feeds -- Add New Feed -- and fill in the blanks. I dont know how far you have gotton or where the problem might be without more information.

King, I get rss feeds from vBulletin.com on both of my sites.

Here's exactly what I did -

Be sure to have the rss feed url of the site you want to feed from.
Go into ACP > Scroll down to RSS Feeds > Click on Add New Rss Feed. On the next screen, fill this in -
Feed is enabled - Yes
Title - whatever you want to name it. I name it for whatever site it's coming from
Url of Feed - Let's use the url of the Announcement forum at vBulletin.com - http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/external.php?type=rss2&forumids=1
Check Feed Every - select how often you want the feed to be drawn
Max Items to Fetch - How many accouncements/articles/posts/etc do you want the feed to deliver?
Search Items for Words - self explanatory
Username - yours or whoever's
Forum - Select the forum that you want the feed delivered to
the next 3 items, select yes or noNow this is where I stopped. I didn't do any thing else but Save. However if you look further, you'll see that you have the option of using smilies, making it a sticky, a moderated thread, etc etc etc.

After all of this is done, Save. Then wait. It usually takes a day or two to begin receiving feeds.

I hope this helps.

I did all that and the bot thing just isn't posting...I don't know why.

I don't know why either sweetie. I have no problem with mine.
You might want to ask at vb.com

Do you by any chance have Cyb - Advanced Permissions Based on User's Post Count MODification installed ? Unfortunately this MODification stops the RSS Poster from running automatically. You have to run the RSS Poster manually . :(

Thanks Protoss. I wonder why that hack prevents the RSS feed from working properly.
Do you know?

Code Monkey gave an explanation. It also stops his ArticleBot MODification from working
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showpost.php?p=1162643&postcount=150

I can confirm that the MODification does stop the RSS poster from running automatically.
As of this date there is no fix for this issue.
