Peggy 06-25-2006, 02:44 PM A new style for 3.6
Executive (http://www.exquisitelyerotic.net/testforum/index.php?styleid=52)
I haven't zipped it up to offer it here yet. I'd like to get some input before I do so.
thanks!
Elsie 06-25-2006, 02:49 PM looks good :) very sleek.
might just be my tired eyes tho, but the contrast feels a bit extreme.... but like i say i'm a bit sleepy, so that might be why! lol

explain to me what you mean by extreme... the light gray and maroon?
Elsie 06-26-2006, 02:19 AM yes - it just seemed a bit too harsh.
looking at with rested eyes tho, it wasn't as harsh. :)
FLMom 06-26-2006, 08:18 PM I really like the color combo, great job :D
Peggy 06-27-2006, 07:10 AM thanks ladies.
c'mon y'all I'd really appreciate some more feedback on this before I zip it up.
Shelley 06-27-2006, 09:06 AM I think adding a very light grey border around the tables (rather than red) would give the style a less dominant overused red feeling. I like the style, but I feel there's a little to much red (coming from a person that used to much blue).
Also, I recommend that you design some custom graphics to replace the current default vb images. The blue stock images look horrid against the red style and I think you wouldn't go wrong implementing some custom images.
The grainy background imo should go. Thus far the style has that nice clean uncluttered feeling and the beveled backgrounds adds a little inconstency to that feeling.
Another suggestion, and this is something I done on the (wings blue) I noticed you added red text, I would alter the text colours (which are red) to a grey/dark grey.
I feel there's quite a bit you can do to improve upon, goodluck with the style. :)
Peggy 06-27-2006, 09:19 AM Shelley, which default vb graphics would you be talking about? I have ALOT of custom images on this style, lol. the forum markers, thread markers, buttons, etc. I do intend to replace the images in the What's Going On section tho.
thanks for your input :D
Shelley 06-27-2006, 09:32 AM On the index page I can see the forum_new_lock.gif marker. You might have missed that being logged in. :)
That's about it on the default front. :) I probably conveyed across that there were more default images than there actually are.
Another suggestion. I personally feel a logo stretching 100% of the width of the forum would look nice. Also maybe add an aditional nav bar intergrated into the logo for people who are hack mad and want to add additional links. This imo would allow members to add more stuff without clutter the menu when new links are added.
The online/offline images are default. As is the rep images. I thought I would mention it as custom images look so much better (yes, coming from a person that still has default images lurking on her forum). I'm such a hypocrit. :p

ah, tried again and now I see it.
your missing a few icons, but wtg on making a style :)
you've come a long way with vb in the little time you've used it ;)

lol... yanno what? I logged out and didn't see it still so cleared my cache and STILL don't see it. But I'm going to make one anyway. I also changed the border to a dark gray. I'm also doing custom online/offline, but leaving the rep images.
As for making the header/title/logo go all the way across... I don't know how wide to make the image. GOD I wish there was a tute for stuff like this, lol. In webpage design I usually make the header/titles according to the most popular resolution, generally 1024 x 768. But I'm sure that the same doesn't apply to this.
thanks again Shelley

I noticed those when I was taking another walk-through, thanks for the catch Loco.
Thanks for the compliment as well. I've already released one style here at fAQ, take a look. It's called DreamyPeach (I think)
Peggy 06-27-2006, 02:40 PM most issues corrected... could you look again please? ;)
