Putting other stuff on forum page

Ok, another newbie question - how can I put links, text etc on my forum page? I have empty space on both sides of the forum body and would like to put info in the empty space.

Also, how could I uncenter the forum body and move it to one side so I can have more open space for links &text & other stuff?

Look at this forum: http://forum.dutchbodybuilding.com/ the forum body is moved to the left. I want to do something like this.

How wide is your forum now?
Do you use a fixed width skin?

If your skin is fluid, you can install the side-column hack and use it for links, ads, etc.

I am using the default skin - It is adjustable via the admin panel. I can make it wider or narrower but it is always centered. How can I find a side colum hack?

It's always centered, yes - unless you add a side column hack, or cmps

I have cmps installed. How do I use it to make changes on the forum page?
