I am looking for any way to arrange that a member can set a custom font face, color and size in their control panel that will be their default font for typing in posts.
Anyone?

Custom Fonts in Postscaptainron19 03-28-2007, 07:23 AM I am looking for any way to arrange that a member can set a custom font face, color and size in their control panel that will be their default font for typing in posts. Anyone? Peggy 03-28-2007, 10:36 AM custom coding? That would be the only way I could think of to do this. I actually had wanted to do the same thing once. Looked at vB.org and asked around. That's the answer I got. It would have to be a hack or custom coding. I don't think anyone has attempted either yet. At least, not the last time I looked around at .org. WhaLberg 03-28-2007, 11:40 AM Hmmm.. Should we code that? I saw some people wanted for that, too. captainron19 03-28-2007, 11:46 AM Hmmm.. Should we code that? I saw some people wanted for that, too. I did find a product on vbulletin.org and just finished applying it and it is working great. It actually applies to change to even a user's past posts The only 2 problems I see with it right now are: 1. No setting for Bold 2. It does not remember the default setting a person uses. So if a person makes a change to their fotn settings they remain in place unless they go back to control panel - edit options it goes back to the default of Ariel - 2 - black. So if a user needs to make a change in the edit options setting for something else they will also have to reset their font settings. The product is at http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=93395 Peggy 03-28-2007, 11:56 AM Unfortunately, that hack was written for 3.5.0, RC2. So you will, indeed, run into issues of one kind or another, sooner or later. Whal - you have something in mind? captainron19 03-28-2007, 11:58 AM What is RC2 ? I am using V 3.6.5 and I made sure people using that version said it was working fine except for the defautl setting once you go back to CP Peggy 03-28-2007, 12:03 PM RC is "release candidate". Kind of a test version before they release the "stable" version. Sorry, I just assume that most people are using 3.6 WhaLberg 03-28-2007, 12:11 PM Unfortunately, that hack was written for 3.5.0, RC2. But I don't promise to do because I am so silly nowadays. captainron19 03-28-2007, 12:16 PM Another thing I would "tweek" form the original hack is that when typing a post it does not show your font color size and face as per your default seting. It only appears after you submit the post. Peggy 03-28-2007, 12:41 PM Yep, why not code something like that? But I don't promise to do because I am so silly nowadays. haha - well it ain't gonna be me, I am not a coder. Caddyman 03-28-2007, 01:19 PM theres a hack like this for 3.6, i have it on my board, they can set their font and color in the usercp. ill find it, being im on a proxy now on my site i cant get to the ACP, but i will later :) Peggy 03-28-2007, 01:46 PM Thanks Chase! I'd love to have this for a clients' forum :) Caddyman 03-28-2007, 04:40 PM http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=93127 more of a template edit, im not the hacker, it was pretty easy my post is #88 on last page, its running on my 3.6.x enjoy | |
