A simple, feminine style with a fixed background and scrolling forums.
Both 3.6.5 and 3.6.7 PL1 .xml's are included in the zip file.

Live Demo (http://www.themesbydesign.net/forums/?styleid=9)

Installation Instructions

Download the attached Zip file, and unzip to your computer.
Upload the entire tulip folder into your forum/images directory, so that your path is images/tulip
Import the xml file by going to your ACP --> styles and templates --> download/upload styles --> browse --> select the xml file where you have it saved on your computer --> import
If you need your forum name added to the header, please request it here.
Enjoy!

Thank you. No it's definitely not for everyone.

This is one of the very first styles I designed. It's pretty popular among the ladies on vb.org :)

Very pretty Peggy... may I make a suggestion...?

I like the static image in top left... how about enhancing the style by placing another complimentary static image in the bottom right - but ensuring it is only at the bottom of the browser window and not the bottom of the page.

Just a thought :)

Peggy

Do you know how to do that John? I would love to try it.

I have installed this skin CLICK ME (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8510), and the first problem I am having is that all the images are broken on my forum page. I dont have it set to default, but you can pick the style in the bottom left of the forum home page. ( CLUBSHUTTERBUG (http://www.clubshutterbug.com)

My next problem is that the home page, vbadvanced, didnt change to the skin. Anyone know what to do to fix these problems?

I chose the tulip style in your style selector and it didn't change to that style at all.
Are you sure you have it turned on?

EDIT - did you even upload the images??

yes, it wont change to that style on the homepage. Only on the forum page for some reason!

Peggy

ok but it's acting like the images were never uploaded, that only the xml file was imported.

First, look in the StyleVars section of this style in the style manager,. and make sure that the image paths say images/tulip/name of folder.

If they do, then look again in your ftp and make sure that the tulip folder and all of its contents was uploaded to your images folder. The file path should be images/tulip/name of folder.

As for the homepage, I have NO idea why the style chooser won't change to the skin. I've never seen that problem before.

Peggy

Soko

Soko

I'm telling ya that the only thing that's wrong with Tulip is that the images are either:

1- not uploaded to the right directory OR
2 - the file path is incorrect in the StyleVars.

Soko
06-06-2007, 09:19 AM
I looked at that last night, and it looked right! I also installed the fancy blue skin, and its working, but only on the forum main page!

John

Peggy has offered to have a look at this for you - there's something you're not doing correctly somewhere eh? Why not allow her to get this sorted for you?

Soko
06-06-2007, 09:45 AM
I am! I gave her the information to get into my site!

All fixed :D

Soko

All fixed :D

Actually, almost all fixed. The homepage links are broken too. I deleted my surge skin because that was causing the homepage to not be able to switch between skins. I did figure that out. I am going to reinstall it the right way now!

UPDATE: I still cant figure out why the homepage wont change skin styles. Now its stuck on Tulip!

Peggy
06-06-2007, 11:44 AM
You'll have to ask about the homepage at vBadvanced if that's where you got it. I don't use them so I know nothing.

As for the images not showing on the homepage, go into your acp, to the tulip style and stylevars, where your image paths are, and add your url to every style path. so it should be http://www.youraddress.com/forum/images/tulip/misc (example)

Then go into the Main CSS of tulip, and in every area where there's a gradient or other image... such at tcat, thead, popup menu options, etc... do the same thing, add the address.

Soko
06-06-2007, 12:12 PM
Ah Ha! Got it, but there is still one broken link that I cant find!

Peggy
06-06-2007, 12:22 PM
shows on the forum, so it's there. Go back to the styleVars and make sure you changed the image path to the misc folder.

Soko
06-06-2007, 12:26 PM
I figured it out. Is it ok to delete the default skin?

Soko
06-06-2007, 12:38 PM
OMG! I figured it out on my own! :)

Peggy
06-06-2007, 12:40 PM
lmao! you're funny. You have to make another skin the default skin before you can delete that one.

Soko
06-06-2007, 01:52 PM
OK, I got all the skins working on all pages. I had my site host revert me back to last night so I didnt have to redo everything.

Now, this could be the last question of the day if someone could step up and answer it quickly! Teheheheh

How do I make all the styles have the same content on every page. For instance, if I switch to the surge skin, all my ads show up and everything, including the clubshutterbug news module, but if I switch to the tulip skin, all the content isnt there!

Someone please help before I am forced to revert to vbulletin "hillbilly style!"

LOL

I assume you are talking on you vBAdvanced homepage yeah? If so, then you need to ensure you have all the same templates for the modules and pages used for each style. Templates are used in vB (vB ad vBA) on an individual style basis. So if you add a new module showing say google ads in one style, you need to add the same template to any additional styles you use.

I have seen a few 'template copiers' as add-ons for vB that you could use to copy templates from one style to any number of additional styles.

Hope that helps.

It looks like she tried to use a bevel and drop shadow on it, thus the gray jagged edges.

Soko

We also installed the fancy blue skin, and that may be our favorite! Not sure yet! Check it out as well. Still got to do a graphic for it though! But I like the functionality of that style. I even added an arcade! :)

Well, off to bed! Ill resume buggin you tommorrow! ;)

Hi, I've installed this skin on my forum at http://www.hannahmontanazone.com/forums. I need however to change that banner to one I made in photoshop.

I've used the slicing tool in photoshop to make the navigation menu on the banner so now I have a header.html and an images folder with all the images needed for the header.

How do I replace the header with the one I've made? What would I have to change ??

Peggy
04-10-2008, 11:46 AM
crys the header images will go in the header template. However, you'll have to figure out the code. My designs are css-based, I do very little coding.
