Hi

I dont get unlimitted databases with my host (yer I know its poo)

But I was looking and was woundering is there a way to use two databases if one is full, as I have seen some sort of setting in the config file, but a little unsure on how it works and if its for that.

can any one help on this matter?. :)

You can use even one database for different scripts as long as table names are different. If you use script1 with a table name 'admin_login' and script2 uses same name for a table, then it won't work.

But another problem is you might end up deleting wrong tables in phpmyadmin. So usually script authors don't advice to use one database for multiple scripts.

You can use one database with multiple applications.

You create a DB, user and password.

For each app, you use table prefixes to separate the apps.

For instant, Two vB installs.

Set one vB install with table prefix vb1_ and install 2 as vb_2 and point them both at the same DB with the same password.

When you view the DB in phpmyadmin, you can work on each install independently.

This will work for just about any app too.

But be aware, you don't want too many apps in one DB. Seperate DBs become necessary at some point usually on large installs.
