kenfuzed 06-14-2007, 11:03 PM It seems that AuctionAds is still having some major problems. Things appeared to be back to normal following their outage last night. However once again tonight their keywords have tanked. This is very aggravating to have women's purses being displayed on my motorcycle sites. Personally I'd rather have blank spaces or even those public service announcements from google.
I sure hope they get their act together soon or I'll have to abandon them until the kinks are worked out.
Joeychgo 06-14-2007, 11:41 PM Even despite the occasional issues, I'm making decent money. So, I have no plans to remove.
kenfuzed 06-17-2007, 10:05 AM So far AA has gone 24 hours without displaying ads for purses, hurray! So far still no $$ but hopefully now that I fixed the new vBa to show modules on my showthread pages, I'll start reaching more of my visitors.
Peggy 06-17-2007, 10:12 AM I had shoes and purses around 4am this morning. But it lasted less than 10 mins and all is well.
kenfuzed 06-19-2007, 09:34 AM I spoke too soon. The past two nights all the ads were of purses and PSP games. This is getting irritating. It always seems to happen right when I'm getting the bulk of my traffic.
Peggy 06-19-2007, 10:03 AM heh, I noticed purses here on FAQ last night for about 20 mins. Still haven't seen them on my site yet .
Mike54 06-19-2007, 11:29 AM I was getting car sales ads on CLS last evening.
Heck, maybe somebody will buy a car. My percentage on a car would be a heckuva lot better than that same percentage on a kilt pin.
Peggy 06-19-2007, 11:31 AM rofl! VERY true!
kenfuzed 06-19-2007, 02:22 PM Maybe I should start a forum about purses, Playstations, and women's shoes. I could make a fortune... unless that site started getting ads for motorcycle parts :p
Peggy 06-19-2007, 02:38 PM Hey, you never know, you just might sell a cycle on a purse site, lol - us ladies like motorcycles too!
john939 06-22-2007, 03:42 AM The problem with outages is that you can loose alot of your traffic over it and it can actually damage your business. If you want to survive the outages and stop your site from hanging while trying to load these AuctionAds, then you will have to put the auctionads ads into an iframe and load that onto each of the pages. This will stop your site from hanging just because of the AuctionAds that are down.

I've noticed that sometimes the ads load slowly and I want to keep my members in mind who may still use dial-up. Nothing blows more than waiting for someone's site to load just because of some ads.

Well, I havent had any problems with the site hanging because of an outage - all I get are either non targeted ads or the error in the adspace.
Second - if your losing your forum membership because an ad isnt working once in awhile - your forum must be pretty boring.
Peggy 06-22-2007, 01:36 PM I have to agree with Joey.
Plus, I've not had one instance of my site hanging because of an ad.
Hell³ 06-22-2007, 07:52 PM Adsense timeouts can happen, but they'll just hang your browser until the timeout error is sent.
