I Need Your Opinion Please

Well, I was told not to use a shared server to host vbulletin, as it would cause performance problems. Vbulletin told me to find a semi-dedicated server, and I have. I'm planning on having around 400-500 users. Can you all tell me if this would be suitable, I just want a second opinion.

I have never had the pleasure of a shared hosting experience with pretty control panels, but the information above is fairly vague. The disk is overkill unless you plan on having so massive amount of attachments and file sharing and/or download links going on. I have around 100 active registered users who login a day, and my 1Gz CPU w/ 1GB RAM is more than enough on linux to support them and the site. The load sits at 0.0x most of the day, and we do about 4 million hits a month. How much does the plan cost? If things start to get slow and they can prove you need more CPU, how much does it cost to upgrade? I'm sure others can offer some better tips but that should help get you started.

What do they consider semi-dedicated and how much does it cost?

PLEASE don't pay yearly. I've seen so many people get stuck with a substandard host but they paid for the year, no refunds after 30 days or 60 days, so have to either stay and hope it gets better (usually doesn't) or move to a better host and forfeit the remainder of the $.
