Not sure if it's still maintained (it was for 3.5.x I think) but surely there are others around. Make sure to address privacy concerns for your users if you happen to use something like this. But FWIW, mine is that "private messages" are called "private" for a reason. ;) If you choose to moderate or read PMs, I hope you are planning on disclosing that to your members beforehand.
