Hell all,
My Site - Huxley Gaming Community (http://www.huxleygame.com)
What Is My Site About?
My website is about a game called "Huxley" which is due for release in the next few years, Huxley is and Xbox 360 and PC based platform game, Huxley is a massively multiplayer online first person shooter (MMOFPS) boasting the massive 5,000 player slot server limit, even if I don't win this I would love to see more members interested in the game.
How My Forum Got Started And Why I Started It?
I started my forum back in 2005 when pretty much nobody had heard about this game and I saw a great domain available so I snapped it up quick, I actually started with a PHPBB forum but when that got spammed and hacked so much I knew it was time to look for something better and that is where I found the best thing ever (vBulletin if you did not work it out).
My Hacks And Mods?
I don't have too many hacks or mods installed, here are what I do have setup at the moment though:
gXboxLive - A mod to enable Xbox 360 players to have their profiles on the site and updated as they play.
Spam Protection - I have a hack setup that will ask users a question when they register that a bot cannot answer, since using it I have not had one single bit of spam, stupid bots hey!
YouTube Addon - I don't know if this is really considered a mod or hack but I made it so my users can implement YouTube videos in their posts so people don't have to leave the site to view the video.
What Makes My Site Unique?
My site is without a doubt unique, there is no other site as popular as this one for Huxley.
About My Members?
I have to say I love my members, there is very few issues on the forum, everyone is friendly to eachother and help out with any questions anyone has, I thought that a forum that is active also requires ALOT of modoration but most of the time is nice and friendly for everyone.
Why Should My Forum Win The Contest?
I really have worked so hard on the site on all aspects from SEO to keeping things updated, just type in "Huxley" in Google.com and you will see it number one and I promise it has taken many hours and alot of staying up ALL night.
The other reason I would love to win is because I am currently doing a home course for "Web Design" and so I am a very dedicated web builder, it is a hobby and I want it my job soon!
