* What is the site about (theme)?
Gaming Site for RuneScape and other RPG Games. Also a chat lounge.
* How did your forum get started / Why did you start it?
My site started in 2000 with a friend. We started it because we both enjoyed really fun RPG games like runescape and WoW. We closed it in 2005 and restarted it a month later with vbulletin and new members.
* What hacks do you have installed and what do they do?
I have the thank you hack - Allows users to thank others for threads which adds to their rep.
I also have the Welcome Headers hack - sets different headers for different user groups. ex. guests see "Welcome User, Please Register to View Forums!"
I have the "active users today" hack which is self explanitory.
My favorite hack is the top 20 stats. It is located at the bottom of the forum index. It allows all users to view what the top stats of the forums are. For example: I set the stats that are shown to be: Top Thanked, Top Posters, top thread starters, and most recent threads.
The last hack and the most interactive one i have is the Shout Box. It is really great and is a fast way of communicating on forums. I can set what users are allowed to shout.
* What makes your site unique?
My site is unique because it offers everything in one place. We have RPG Cheats(bots), guides, markets, GRAPHICS, and a lounge. Its really neat and organized. We don't have many competitors that are as neat and friendly as our forums are.
* Tell us about your members, what makes them special?
We have over 15,000 members in less than 6 months. Since we began, we have had more members then ANY RS site pooring in. Its really sectaular how many users we can accumulate so quickly. Our members are active and reliable. Many of them can be moderators but there are just so many loyal members, all positions are pretty much filled.
We have vip's that constantly donate. Even after they have reached to maximum amount to enter ViP forums, they continue to support the site. The users trust each other with their accounts, gold, etc. It is a very connected place.
* Why should your forum win this contest?
I believe my forum is unique.
1. it has so many members that are active.
2. It would not seem likely that a gaming site would win a contest for botm so this would be a first.
3. We need more support because we are out growing ourselves.
4. We are looking to expand very quickly. Our pagerank is about to hit 5.
5. We are one of the top RPG sites on the net for discussion and graphics.
6. We are open and friendly. Which is one reason why we have so many affiliate offers.
