Shelley 07-10-2006, 12:19 PM Still working with the style. I thought I would go with something a little less prominant and something a little easier on the eyes. It's about 2-3 hours work and only decided to remove the wings fire in replace for this style. :)
C&C welcome and also suggestions. New Style (http://www.vbimageworks.com/forum/index.php?styleid=4)
noppid 07-10-2006, 12:24 PM I like the overall style, but the text contrast everywhere is too light for my eyes. It needs more contrast so we know what to read IMO.
Nice job!
semann 07-10-2006, 12:29 PM Very very goos shelley.
I like the aTabs concept.
Suggestion:
1. Changing the gray background
2. the footer is "ice winged" skin
3. The report post icon doesnt combine
4. buttons like Quote have the withe border.
Well done Shelley its very good WTG on yor WIP

Nice job!
The intention was to be subtle compared to the other style which was (being honest) blinding. I guess I could tinker around with the colours to give it a more prominant look.

1. Are you referring to the thead gradient semann? if so I kinda like the grey and thought it suited and complemented the blue variant quite well.
2. I'll replace that and design something to compliment the style. It's on my to do list, just haven't got around to designing the footer just yet.
3. Another thing on my to do list.
4. lol You caught me being lazy and didn't realize I left the background layer on. Infact, I think I left a few on which I'll rectify shortly.
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated. :)

No the Real background, i mean the one that appears when you are logging in
Loco.M 07-10-2006, 06:09 PM ooo, i think i might have found a good style for Gary's fish site, I'll have to see what he thinks
any chance you'll share it ?

Normally I haven't got a problem with sharing anything I design but the style was designed to be exclusive to my forum. If by the offchance I do get fed up with it, i'll probably post it at vb.org for everyone to use.
on another note, I implemented more changes so if anyone wants to comment further on it or make any suggestions to improve upon the style that would be appreciated. :)
Peggy 07-11-2006, 07:22 AM oopps I thought it was going to be offered for d/l as well.
Me thinks we might want to specify this in the future. I did the same thing once
I really like the tabs up top, and the mouseover affect. However, I wouldn't leave the same
links on the navbar as is on the tabs.
The text in alt 1 and 2 is still pretty light. I know you meant it to be that way, but for some, it's going to be hard to read. And the text on the buttons is way small. I had to squint to look at them.
But all in all, very nice!
semann 07-11-2006, 07:31 AM the new buttons "rock" haha... i think the style could be "finished" its excellent
Coder1 07-11-2006, 08:18 AM I like it! I always prefer rounded corners, though I don't have them on my site. I also agree with whoever said "more contrast". I think the text and links definitely need to be darker... much darker, for the sake of readability.

Being my 3rd Vb style I'm still new when it comes to all this but the next time I submit a style I'll bare what you said.
I'll take a look at the text in the Alt1/2 area. I really hate to give this a more prominant look but I'll probably make the adjustments.
The text was always going to be a problem, I like pixel fonts but I know it's not everyones cup of tea and purely got selfish and implemented purely down to my own preference. I'll try and find a better font, something that isn't so small and possibly opt for a larger font.
@tgeer I think all of the above anwsered your suggestion.
Thanks again for the suggestions it's appreciated.
