Talking Websites

The following infomation could make your site/forum pages more rememberable to your visitors.

As we all know traffic is key to making money online, not only hits but genuine visitors who stay on your page long enough to view what you have to offer. Part of this is website design which is a whole other issue and there are other factors that will affect the profitability of your web promotions or advertisements.

One such factor which has recently come to light and is having more and more effect is to do with how our brains perceive what we see. Any site offering products, services or simply containing advertisements as a sideline needs its visitors to SEE the page, not just VIEW it.

The problem is that over time we have become more and more immune to visual advertisements. At first banner ads were considered excellent tools, they were eye-catching and new, they attracted the visitors eyes and in return received high click through percentages. Unfortunately most of your potential customers are not looking for fancy graphics and have subconsciously learned to turn off these images in favour of text.

Google's AdSense advertisements have therefore achieved a more sustained and effective result since their targeted text ads blend more naturally with the content of the pages they are displayed on. Again though we learn to skip past them, although the colours and backgrounds can be varied, the layout is all to familiar. What we see everyday, we overlook. What is new draws our attention.

So what's my point? Simple, banner ads may have been and gone, but talking websites and e-mails have only just got started. It doesn't happen on every advertising page, but my prediction is that it will happen on more and more in the VERY near future.

Why? Because when surfing the net we haven't learned to turn of our ears yet. Your eye's can't skip past it because there is nothing to see, we hear it as we read and it can subconsciously guide our eyes to products or advertisements on the page without us even being aware.

Vocalix (http://www.vocalix.com/?r=16388) can provide everything you need to record, synthesise and vocalise your pages and e-mails. Cleverly worded messages don't even need to say buy this product, it can just be a suggestive message that sends the viewer looking for the solution they now think they MUST have. All because we haven't turned off our ears yet.

It is interesting to here your views but recent studies have shown the opposite effect. Perhaps more so on product pages themselves.
