1st Custom Style! (work in progress)

Hi people, what do you think of my first custom style, its still a work in progress becuase i have only finished the index page.
I would like to thank Gadabout (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/member.php?u=1743) for helping me code come of the custom codes that are included in this style. Also thanks to Peggy (http://www.vbulletin-faq.com/forum/member.php?u=10) for helping me with odd lil bits here and there. Please comment on my style and tell me what you think of it sofar.

Lookin good darlin - you're gettin' there. I'm sure that you're going to design custom icons as well, yes?
I like the header image that you put on it, except.... haha you knew I was gonna do that didn't you? I would like to see just a light touch of that dark teal color find its way into your header image. Perhaps just lite brushes of it in that fancy-shmancy vB ;)

You're doing great - keep me updated on the progress of this skin. I'd love to see what you do with the postbit :yes:

Hey Peggy, what do u think of that!

Needs to be brighter hun. Use the lighter shade of the teal.

what font do u recommend i use, becuase i want to appeal to a large aray of people?

The more that I look at the other font, the more I don't like it. The B is so fancy and the other part is "grungy". I would use a 'straight-up' font so as not to overshadow, but compliment, the font that the B is using. Perhaps Tunga, or Trebuchet, or Verdana... even Moondog.

no no #4 is the best because the B font is so fancy. You don't want another script font with it.

Yep. I went to be at midnight last night and tossed & turned til almost 4am before I fell into a deep sleep - only for the alarm to go off at 6:30! :eek:

I Just tried writing a tutorial of how to do the background and when i read through it it made no sense so i am just going to post the background image, so people can look at it and get the ideas from there.

Once you have set it as your Page Background you need to make the Body Background black, or if you have editied the image make the body background suit!

I like them, however, imo the forum_new and forum_old aren't different enough to be able to tell them apart on the forum. I would make the forum_new a little brighter or darker or something. Also, you're missing the forum_link.gif.

Other than that... I like 'em

i personal dont like all the ads you have, nearly everywhere lol! and its a bit to pink for me! lol

Yeah but if you visit the forum there aren't that many ads. Let not talk about the pink lol. It took 3 months to get the design I didn't want to take another 3 months changing anything else.

Ok oops, I forgot about the forum sponsors and then the affiliates at the bottom. But my members like them because they can advertise their sites. They are coming from sites where they were not allowed any advertising and it was killing their business. We were in the same boat, my business partner and I, that's how this place evolved.

ANYHOW lol, back on topic. I think your site design is really coming along. Good job.

Hey there, soz i have been away for a bit, me a 2 of my friends we have been producing a recording songs, so i had no time to do my skin, but know i am back, and got an update lol!

eh I'm not too keen on this one. I like the forum rules being in the dropdown menu so I can collapse it.

I don't know how to fix that hun. I know that there's some code that you can put in with the last post code to set it to a certain width, but I don't know what it is or where it goes. TBH, I've never had that problem, so never needed it. :(

Hey you. Sorry, I was in and out of here yesterday. Finally crashed and got some sleep last night!

Ummm... I like the layout. However, I can't really give you an accurate opinion unless I see it in the entire context. Where (or what) exactly, is that? On the forumhome? Is it a dropdown menu? I'm not good at giving piece by piece opinions. I need to see the "big picture". But I do like that layout - it's neat and organized.

Nah, that is the User Cp, you have to click the User Cp on the navbar to go there! :D

Ok - well I saw the main forum category down there, and though "Surely not!" lol

Now that I know what I'm looking at - I LIKE IT!!!! That is a really nice new layout for the User CP.

Well at the moment, its just a style. I had never thought of releasing each part as a mod! lol

I dunno, it's up to you. But you must know that if you release that skin, with all those customizations, people are gonna be after you for them.
