Making a forum display as private

Hi Guys,

I have kind of a noobish question . How do I make a forum appear as "Private" on the forum homepage. I currently have a forum that's only viewable to one usergroup, a private board for woman DJs. I have it set so the forum doesn't even appear for any other usergroup.

What I'd like to do is let everyone see that forum is there (it may attract some members) but for everyone but ladies show "private" in forum home and give the no permission message to anyone out side of the ladies group tries to view it. I know it's possible, I've seen it on many forums, I'm just not sure how to set the UG permissions.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I think this is what you do, also make it so other usergruops can view the forums, but not read or post in them.

Thanks, T2C. You got it right. Do you know if I can have it for select forums. For instance I'd like private to show for the womans' forum but have my staff forums not even appear.

Forums and Moderator-Forum Permissions

Find the staff forum, then find the usergruop you want to edit, Click the all no button, should do the trick.:)
