What is the site about (theme)?
Generally what I want to do for this website is make it a very culture oriented forum. It is tailored to Christians, however I am trying to create a Christian congregation with no blind faith, so I am trying to incorporate several perspectives on spirituality.What Hacks have you installed and what do they do?
vBSEO - Rewrites URLS, Adds Google Analytics Code, Adds Trackbacks, linkbacks, and several other features
vBSEO Sitemap - Generates a map of URLS of my website and submits the map to GOogle and Yahoo so they can spider much easier
Welcome Headers - Just shows a "Welcome Register" message as well as inactivity messages and the like.
GARS Lite - A system for my articles on the website. I will soon be upgrading to the full version.
vBAdvanced v3.0 - It is to display articles, who's online, and recent threads all in one place. :)
Members who have visited the forum - Shows who has visited the forum in the last 24 hours.
AJAX REG - Does AJAX checking during registration to make registration a little easier. It includes a password strength thing as well.What makes your community unique?
Right now, I cannot say at all that it is the strength of the community, as our community is very small at this point. But several members there are Agnostic, Deist, or Atheist, and they are very respectable and intelligent people in debates and around the forum. You will find some very intelligent, both devout and not, as members there.Tell us about your members, what makes them special?
They are all very intelligent, they all can spell and use grammar correctly, and they all have diverse and interesting opinions. Members make the website, so they the core of the community.Why should your forum win this contest?
We are not large, by any extent, as you can very well see. However I do not think that that factor should automatically take us out of consideration. I have invested ample time into this website, trying to balance the design to be as free of clutter and trying to make sure things are more community based than autocratically based to the Administrator. It would be great to win this, as I think if we get big enough, we could be a great resource for Christians across the web, giving members a large amount of control and allowing them to tell what is important.
