PR Update - err - something - In progress

Im seeing PR changes -- Our Forum home went to a PR6

W00t!

listedwrong.com went from PR0 to PR5
heavymetalscene.com went from PR0 to PR4

I am about to start searching more in depth, but I can confirm that I now have a few former pr0 subforums at pr4 and 5 right now per the toolbar!

Mine has been a 3 for the last 2 years. I thought VBSeo might do the trick, but here I am with only 700 or so pages listed on Google. Pathetic.

I saw this topic in the newsletter.

My PR0 site just went up to PR6.

I lost PR too Loco. my forum, having been a PR5 for a few months, is now a pr2.
I try not to pay too much attention to this. Google is so screwed up lately

While it is nice to see activity. Nothing is going to convince me this is an over night fix and that they can get it right the first time. Not that I could do it, but I'm sure you get the point.

I'm not suprised to see alot of PR drop across the net. The last PR update was insanely crazy. I had one forum a few months ago on phpbb that I just got out there and never did anything with go to PR5 on the last update. All it has is the default forum and default initial thread.

This update knocked it back down to 0

My largets forum (vbseo powered) got alot of internal PR which I love. My newest forum, only 6 weeks old got PR3 on the home page and the forum home.

I lost PR on on of my forums, although its homepage maintained PR4.

Overall, this is a good PR update for me if it sticks.

I am almost sold on the fact that Google is just updating this PR toolbar crap to stir publicity. My subforums have higher pr than my mainpage and this is the second update that has only updated pr0 pages. Looks like they want every page to have some kind of pr. Wonder why?

Well, Ive done a bit of testing, and come up with pretty much nothing. I have made some observations about what google is doing, but I dont see much of a methodology involved. So many sites have taken a dump in the serps, sites that have held a top ten position for years and are reputable sites. It makes no sense. I dont see the problems occurring at Yahoo or Ask, only Google.

In short, im baffled. The only thing that makes sense, is that Google is broken, to use a generic term. That is all I can think of to explain what I see, because what i see makes no sense.

Do a search on "google is broken". It has been written about for years. At least two that I can think of. It's not a new idea. They just proved it beyond a shadow of a doubt this time.

Hmmm I hope they are just messing with stuff.... all of my sites PR are the same but the backlinks for my primary site fell to 170 from 880 :( Actually all of my sites BL fell.

It seems that google has this idea that links are evil unless they are adsense links. If you sell links or list links, you are a link farm. Only google can put links on your site and call them advertising.

I think the greed is showing. Once the SEC sees the adsense and adwords money going is a circle, things will change. But the money will be in someone's pocket and the consequences a slap on the wrist.

No increase in any of home pages. PR4s across the board yet. :(

My vbadvanced homepage stayed at 2, my forums dropped from 3 to cero. Besides appliying the tips and minor mods explained here, I haven't really set up myself into SEO.
