I am tryig to a add private area for moderators to discuss issues and a place for them to move thread to for final evalution. I thought i would be able to figure it out on my own but cant.

I dont want any of the registered users to be able to see it, only mod, supermods and admins.

I also cant seem to figure out how to allow non- registered users to be able view pics. Or just anyone who doesnt want to log in.

Im sure that answer it starring me in the face, but i am a newbie and have been staring at the cpanel to long

Set forum permissions for all usergroups except mods, supermods and admin to No on everything.

Screenshots.

Admin CP > Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions > Select the usergroup you want to edit under the forum name in this instance you have to do everything but supermods, moderators, and admins individually.

In the usergroup setting page, select custom settings for this group as outline, press All No and scroll down to press save.

And I do it just the opposite, lol.

I create the staff forum, set forum permissions to no for all usergroups, then yes only to the usergroups that should have access, and then customize the mod usergroup, cuz you won't want them to have all privileges.

Either way is good. Just depends on how many usergroups you have as to which way is faster.

Ok guys that worked really well thanks.

My mods are requesting to be able to view posts in the MOD area when they click on the newposts button in the navbar. I hope I explained that correctly. Thanks

That would be under the individual usergroup.

ACP > Usergroup manager > manage usergroups
Forum Viewing Permissions > can dpwnload attachments

I think...

I don't allow it so I could be wrong. If I am, lemme know and I'll read the manual ;)

ACP > Forums & Moderators > (edit the forum you want)
Click YES under "Index New Posts in Search Engine"

Other permissions should keep the posts from your regular members. Though advise your mod team that when searching these will show up. (It can get confusing at times especially if you set it to YES in a grave yard type forum for "closed" threads)
