Excellent book that delivers what the title says This small book is a jewel at a great price! It is part of the Quantum Learning eight book series. The information presented in this series is part of the program offered to students who attend the Learning Forum's "Supercamp", at a cost of over $2,000, which, if I could afford it, I would send most of our students to.
Research shows that understanding greatly increases when you match your activities with your strongest learning style. You can also improve communication, and results, when you know how to recognize and tap into the learning styles of others.
The second chapter talks about the "Psych-Geometrics Personality Indicator" that can tell you a great deal about how your brain works. The third chapter discusses the Gregore Model, which identifies two main ways we process information - concrete and abstract perception; and sequential and random perception. Four strategies are then discussed for making learning easy and natural.
The book then enables you to evaluate the way you learn - visual, auditory and kinesthetic, and then lets you to take the "Personal Thinking Patterns Inventory" which reflects how we take in, store, recall, and express information and then discusses the importance of knowing your preferred way of processing information and why it matters. Lastly it helps the reader "Put it all Together".
All the tests and interpretations are short and to the point. This book is thin, an easy read, packs a tremendous amount of information in a few pages and enables a person to reach his or her own conclusions. It can be used individually, as a family discovering experience or in a group.
I find it fascinating to see how quickly people open up about themselves when they get to interpret the test in a family or group setting and how, when differences are understood, self-esteem and interpersonal relationships can improve.
I use this in our "Creating Intelligence" course and find it appropriate for ages 12 and up. This is a great value for the buck.
