 Insightful and pertinent
A dark shadow looms over Europe. Ms. Berlinski enumerates and expands on quite a few menaces that have taken root in Europe, namely, radical Islam, widespread anti-semitism and anti-americanism, Christianity's demise in that continent, the prospect of German nationalism waking from its slumber, plummeting birtrates among native Europeans, lack of "purpose" in the lives of most Europeans (reflected by soaring suicide rates), persistent or cronic high unemployment and, immigrants that refuse to be assimilated. All of these "menaces" may have important implications for the USA and the rest of the world.
Ms. Berlinski is articulate, highly educated and, also, a gifted writer. I do not know her age, but, judging by how she presented the issues in this book, I think her message is fashioned mainly after a younger audience (perhaps people under forty).
There is a wake up call in this book for all concerned. I think Europeans better sweep aside political correctness and start thinking seriously on collective survival.
 Blatantly obvious
I don't suppose it ever occurred to these idiots that people are not an infinite resource who keep reproducing no matter the odds stacked against them. This book is typical of the smarmy self-righteousness of the 'ordo ab chao' subscribing elites who raped Europe in WW2 for their own financial benefit and then wake up and find that the 'little people' don't like being made slaves. They then think to remedy the situation by mass immigration, which has just added the final nail to the coffin. Particularly when many of the immigrants have received better public educations in their Third World countries than we have in our drug-riddled, divorce addled First World ones. The churches, particularly with the rise of the medieval militaristic Pentecostalists, have been infiltrated by these jerks who think the solution to these problems is to keep selling us more religious snake-oil which directly contradicts the basic teachings of not only Jesus/Jewish tradition but any half-decent religious or humanistic philosophy. If life is an economic competition ruled by pathological liars, the weakest will choose to bow out of a game that they not only can't win, they can't survive in. And then they have the temerity to blame the Muslims. They did it to themselves.

This is a good book for anyone interested in the immigrant experiences and more importantly why they differ. She uses anecdotal writing which to my mind makes it more entetaining.
Brilliant social and historical analysis
Menace in Europe provides brilliant insights into the current social crisis in Europe. Exploring topics such as immigration and nationalism, it provides American readers with pointed, thoughtful and well-documented observations about the social and political climate in Europe. We should all be concerned about the destructive forces ripping apart the European continent. As a footnote, the chapter on the German rock band Rammstein is absolutely brilliant as it depicts the underground rise of nationalism in a nation that has tried to stamp out Aryan tendencies. This book is highly, highly recommended.
