 confused
I ordered this book believing it is the 2nd edition. It even has the ISBN of the 2nd Edition, but when I open the book, the first page, which is in black and white, says 3rd edition. I am very confused and do not know if this is the book I need or not, and cannot seem to find out. Nobody seems to know. I have not used the book yet, so I cannot rate the book, only the way that it is very confusing to figure out which edition you have.
There's Not Much Here!
I have just received this. I ordered it because I will be teaching Senior High School English in a new District this year, and will be responsible for the Research Paper. Three factors attracted me to this source -- The pages were standard 8 1/2 by 11, so they could be easily copied; the copyright was 2004, which was much more updated than most sources I was finding; and the price was right. But when I received it, I was disappointed. There is very little "helpful information" here and it is really only a sample of organizational sheets that students can use in taking notes. The calendar (see sample in "Search This Book" is just a basic 7-day page with days and squares. These can be printed out FREE on-line. Most of the pages within this collection are just as basic. As a teacher, I can't do much with this. Sorry.

 Step by Step: Building a Research Paper
This is a great format to follow when preparing any major project. It serves as a guide to keep you focussed. You can work on small portions at a time, come back, and easily recall everything that you have done. While not all applications directly affect the paper, they do serve as a greater guide when used together.
Great Tool
I wish that this book had been around during my undergraduate years! The Step By Step guide is a great tool for writing research papers, graduate projects, and organizing multiple projects. It saves you time, energy, and helps you channel that stress into a something productive. Step By Step teaches you the notebook method, which will help even the worst procrastinators break their bad habits.

The methods used are helpful in managing time and keeping the project organized and focused. The step by step method stimulates the desire to take steps toward completing task. The tasks become fun and challenging as one advances toward completion with less anxiety.
