Could do more than this... This book is good to read for a started in SAP MM. But the Special Procurement Types Split Valuation is missing. More grammer mistakes are done the configuration can be given seperately on a step by step basis. Apart from this every thing is good can keep this book for reference purpose... Can do more...
Perfect book for MM Consultants When I saw review of this book in first time I did not know to buy or not. See a lot of mixing review I decided to buy this book and it was good decision for me.

br /X First, the book translated SAP terms from SAPinese to simple language .You will be able to understand meaning of term and there significance in the business process.
br /X Second, In this book you can see example of configuration, but do not try to find solution for types of configuration in MM, remember it was not the goal of this book and if you are MM SAP Consultant you have to understand it is not possible to do.
br /X Third, the book will be able to save your time, because if you have some basic question in MM you will be able to find answers fast and easy. You can use this book during your SAP practice.

More functionality than configuration.....yet a good book Just finished going through the entire book in very much detail...I will have to admit that martin's book is worth 4 stars BUT no more than that. I have my reasons for doing so.
br /Pro's.
br /1. This book summarizes the SAP MM functionality in a very good way. Till now the SAP MM area was pretty much starved of any good book.
br /2. Almost all of his chapters have step-by-step instructions----with screen shots for most of the important steps. This ensures that this book will get used by both the MM user and the consultant that configures the application.
br /3. A detailed index and a glossary make this book more useful...Although the glossary is towards the end of the book, I found that it was very helpful to go through the glossary before reading the book.

br /Cons
br /1. When it comes to the Technical configuration part...this book is not very helpful. To the consultant, the book shows the path to configuring the system...but How? and Why? should the configuration be done is not explained properly....This will definitely get the newcomer or midlevel consultant confused and will make him look out for more expert help.
br /2. SAP is a very relational application. An incorrect config in one module effects other modules too. This books lacks in its explanation of the 'effects of a configuration being done.'
br /3. Finally..some important configs have not been explained properly...like 'Pricing Condition technique in MM Purchasing' and 'Release Procedure setup for Documents'.
br /
br /Over all, this book is a good purchase for the MM user and the newcomer (consultant) coz it explains the MM functionality in a good way.

Suitable for a beginner This book is suitable for someone who doesn't know anything about the MM module. If you're an expert in this module, you may be dissapointed about the book.
