vBulletin Difficult to Follow
This book is difficult to follow. I would not suggest anyone use this text as a beginner guide. Some of the instructions do not match the images for indicated results. This lack of congruence, causes frustration and much lost time. I would suggest instead the Step by Step MS Project 2007 by Carl Chatfield, PMP and Timothy Johnson, PMP for someone unfamiliar with the software.

Thank you,
Bart Harris

vBulletin Great Handbook for Project Professional 2007
This is great book for knowing how to use project professional 2007. I have read many of the books on the shelf, but this is my favorite. It has good explanitions and step-by-step procedures. I will be using it for all my training class in project professional 2007. I highly recommend it to other trainers and managers of a PMO that are using project server and project professional.

vBulletin Great resource for users learning Project 2007
Excellent book from two of the best known Project gurus around. In terms of learning content everything is clearly laid out and well explained and the text flows very well. A must have resource for all users of Microsoft Project 2007.

vBulletin Mostly a Rehash of Project 2003
A word of caution to those who are proficient in MS Project 2003...this book does NOT segregate new features that come with 2007; existing 2003 functionality is discussed as if you are learning MS Project FOR THE FIRST TIME. If you have used 2003 for any real-world projects, this book will not be very efficient use of your time in learning 2007 features. I think the "Microsoft Office Project 2007 Step by Step" may be more practical for this audience.

And by the way, this is a HUGE book (in terms of overall dimensions and page count) with large print (for unknown reason).

vBulletin Really the ultimate

Well yes, this guide starts from the basics and goes all the way, making it fit for the beginner and those wanting to dig deeper alike, but one can argue, don't they all? I want to call this book outstanding, but then I fezel I have to explain where it stands out as compared to other Microsoft Project learning books.
There are a few unique advantages I want to highlight:
- It handles each topic only once (rather than making one curious in an early chapter and explaining the full truth 10 chapters later)
- It goes beyond just teaching the usage with paragraphs clearly marked as "understanding..." which is absolutely necessary for all users of Project;
- Finally, the richess and quality of the exercice material with many samples clearly based on life situations: not just "staircase Gantt Charts" but overlapping tasks, well chosen milestones..
In short, it will be an add-on for my teaching.
