As promised, here is a follow on to my previous post.

In this post I would like to highlight how we are proceeding with the 4.X series and what we are expecting to introduce as part of the series. Please, note that these are not ordered in terms of priorities, but provided as a target list. And of course, as denoted in my previous post, 4.1 will include the top 4 items in this list.

As previously mentioned, we are also working in a re-factoring. The first element to be re-factored is the editor. There will be a common editor across the product. This will improve usability, as users will have a common experience for posting and editing with the added bonus that it also supports WebKit. As a note, not all of our re-factoring efforts will have a visual component, however, with each release we will let you know what was re-factored.

And also as previously mentioned, we will be also working on issues. The target is that each release will have a good mix of features, enhancements and bugs. It is very important to us that just as we deal with the challenges; we also further the product and what the product offers.

I do want to make a special note on one of the features included in this list as it pertains to some question from the previous post: Custom Content Type Builder. Some of you asked about the “review” content type. The Custom Content Type Builder will have a few primitives from which we all can build new content types. In theory, and as it has been specified, you should be able to build a review content type with the tool.

Without further ado:

Member Profile Customization

Overhauled StyleVars

Improved and integrated upgrade Process

URL Mapping (CMS in root etc.)

Improved CMS editor

Google Auth + Twitter

Mobile Skin (m.vbulletin.com)

Updated style

UTF-8 Further Development

Revised Search

Activity Stream

Custom Content Type Builder

Photo Gallery with Photo Tagging

Sharing Tools

Mobile API

Custom Content Type Builder

Updated CMS Permissions

Improved use of Memcached and File Cache

Member Newsletter Feature (Text + HTML)

Header Menu Manager Customization (completed spec)

Unified Moderation and Notifications System

Unifying widgets and blocks

Enable Community Moderation (vote up/down content)

Additional Login Options (Google, Twitter, OpenID, Email Registration, etc)

Subscription Option: Google Checkout

Improved Asset Manager

Updated email management/ and templates to prevent blacklisting

PostgreSQL support (this will assist and be a part of refactoring our database structure)

CMS Workflow (change author, draft, approved, unpub date)

Inline Style/Theme Customization (Inline UI to edit StyleVars)

Invite Friends Features

Find Friend Features (via Address Book: Yahoo Mail, Gmail, AOL, etc)

User can self-delete their profile/account

Ad Management for Blogs and CMS (and more advanced Forum integration)

Frankly speaking, there is not that many themes out there, but you can still find some good ones, if you want to style your website pretty well (and of course for free).

Anyways, I have stumbled upon one great free theme for Vbulletin, which is called BB-blue and has a pretty attractive layout. As for me, this theme could be applied almost to any web community (you can even create your own custom logo, free of charge, by using a PSD file, which is included in this theme’s installation folder).

Anyways, BB blue doesn’t look like a regular theme for Vbulletin, it is a top class template, which is available for free, for anyone !.

Some Features are:

Fixed width of 900.
Rounded corners via CSS (no images so you save bandwidth).
Custom "statusicon" made for this style.
100% compatible with vBulletin 4.0.5 version.
Custom Logo with its PSD included into download.
Custom Background.
Easy to install.

Please note: You must register over there in order to download this skin (but it's free Lol)

Hello forum members,

I'm currently searching for a forum partner for my website design & development community.

You must be interested in the niche, dedicate time to the forum and must have a vBulletin 4.0 license which can be used for the forum.

I already have a top level domain name ( indexed on search engines for popular keywords to the forum's niche ) which can be used and HostGator hosting.

You'd help me manage the forum as an administrator if you allow me to use your vB 4.0 license & you can place Google ads on the header of the forum to make some money if you want. ( nothing too messy )

If you're interested in this partnership, private message me. If you have any questions, you can post here. We can talk more on MSN live messenger if you'd like to.

There are a few strategies for this:
1: Stemming
Use the foremost keyword for the page to generate subsidiary and tertiary keywords. Put the first 3 or so surrounded by the title marker, and put the 12(ish) keywords contained by your keyword tag.

2: Keywords + Branding
Use 2 keywords in the title flap and fall the strip near "from your company". It's expendable to use your own brand within the keyword label.

3: Shotgun method:
Use your leading keywords to form the core keywords, consequently use goings-on keywords approaching "buy x", or "x for sale", afterwards use messaging keywords approaching "best x" or "x contained by bulk". This will cover most of the user survey intentions.

4: Simple method
Out of 12 (ish) keywords use the top three search keywords that are relevant (you can use the keyword popularity tool on G00GLE or Yahoo). Then cart the 3 keywords at 75% frequency, next 50% afterwards 25%. This will cover your basis to seizure the giant significance query language as capably as the smaller search expressions to drive traffic. It'll pinch time to drive traffic from the lofty stratum keywords, but you should procure impartially short occupancy results from the lower plane ones.
