If you've got a reasonable understanding of HTML, just copy the page source of the simplest page in your vB forum - a one post thread whilst logged out is pretty good.
Then you just strip out all the extra stuff (or keep just the basic layout stuff) to reduce it to a really simply page without all the bells, whistles and tools of a vB page.

I see what you are saying though. take out enough and replace it with what you need, articles, or whatever so the page looks like it is a natural vb page of whatever style you maybe using...good idea...I would be surprised if there is not a hack that would auto create a page, and you just fill in certain parts, text, blocks, images, etc..

At some point you need to get some sort of handle on HTML if you are going to do much customising, though.
