Moderator Criteria

Do you have a specific criteria that you adhere to when selecting moderators for your forum?

If you do, feel free to share with us what that criteria is.

1) Trustworthy
2) Knowledgeable
3) Friendly - no use having someone unapproachable as a moderator.
4) Not power hungry

I think Big Dan nailed what I was going to post.

#1 - Trust. If you can't trust in your staff then why have them in that position.

#2 - Fair. They need to be fair to everyone on the forum and show not to play favorites.

#3 - Contribute. They have to contribute to the forum too. Making quality posts and threads and not hiding in the shadows.

#4 - Not on a Power Trip.

History!

Without a history, as in posting, how can
one judge any of the other attributes?

Only exception I can think of is a new
board, where one is importing lieutenants
from an earlier forum.
