Thumbs up Commbull Goes Open Source

For those that don't know about Commbull, it was pretty much the only solution to send out decent newsletters for quite a while. It was always a decent add-on but had it's quirks. I forget how much it cost but the fee was nominal, I used it on my board for a while but removed it mainly because not every got the newsletter despite the system saying it had been sent.

    From the email:
    Hi Dan,

It's been awhile since the last update and this isn't a big one, but it does contain big news.

5.1 update adds the simple functionality of allowing a user to unsubscribe by simply clicking on a link in the newsletter without having to log in.

The big news is good and bad. Good: I am releasing the code (open-source). Bad: reasoning is because I have been trying to find time to add the cron functionality back into this version and have not found the time because of the complexity of keeping the memory footprint at a minimum for those with large forums but on a shared (or weak) server.

I will be adding the community bulletin to vbulletin.org, but the current version will be available for a limited time here: <snip>

Cheers & good luck to any of those that wish to further develop this.
