Just get the side column hack over on vbulletin.org. It is very easy to do. Just do a search for side columns.

    adminCP>Styles & Templates>Style Manager>Add New Style

    Parent Style: None
Title: Whatever you wanna name it
Allow User Selection: Up to you ( I usually choose no while I am working on a skin so that no one can see it till I am done)
    Display Order: doesn't really matter

Click save and now you have a new style to work with.

Don't let it make you nervous. The great thing about vBulletin is that if you make a mistake you can always revert the templates and get it back to the way it was

go into the style manager in your ACP, select the skin on the right, using the drop-down menu for the skin, select delete. and Go.

Then you'll have to go into your FTP and delete the files.

the files for the skin would most likely be in their own folder. For example if the skins' name is Herbert, then there would be a folder in your images directory in ftp named herbert. You would delete that entire file.

If you're unsure of this, you don't HAVE to delete it right now. It's not hurting anything to leave it there for now, certainly not taking up alot of space. So wait til you're more comfortable with deleting it.
